On 7 June, the 2020-2021 edition of Startupper School Academy, the program for the promotion of entrepreneurship in schools, aimed at stimulating the propensity to do business in the Higher Secondary Education Institutes of the Lazio Region ended.

During the final event, the “Special Bioeconomy Award” was awarded to the Liceo Scientifico e Linguistico Statale in Ceccano, with the “GAIA” project. Silver and bronze medals, respectively, to the students of the I.I.S Celestino Rosatelli of Rieti with the project “The ford: the blue gold of the Rieti plain” and of the I.O. Fratelli Agosti di Bagnoregio, with the “Capra 2.0” project. The jury also decided to reward two other teams: the students of the IPSSEOA Costaggini of Rieti with the project “La Teca di Bacco” and the students of the State High School “L. Rocci”, with the idea “E- glue, the glue that saves the planet “.

The different groups were awarded because they proposed projects based on models of territorial regeneration and the use of waste for the production of bioproducts, addressing the bioeconomy from a circular perspective.

The first three winners will receive a Vivichem Kit, an educational support created by Novamont that will allow children to reproduce a canned biorefinery by describing the renewable raw materials and the processes that lead to the production of bioproducts and biopolymers. The winner will also receive a cash prize delivered by Novamont. Furthermore, all the winners will be able to promote their project idea at the Bioeconomy Village of the European BIOVOICES and Transition2BIO projects and during the Researchers’ Night 2021 and at Maker Faire 2021 (subject to restrictions related to the health emergency).

Among the partners of this edition, together with Transition2BIO, also Novamont, Cluster della Chimica Verde Spring, Re Soil Foundation, the Biovoices project and the European Bioeconomy Network.
